Job Description

We are seeking a student recruitment marketing expert to join the team as Head of Postgraduate Recruitment to lead on a renewed strategy that will support product development, enhanced customer journey and experience, and ensure the recruitment of quality PGT and PGR students at the University of Derby.

About the role

The Head of Postgraduate Recruitment, supported by an officer and working collaboratively with colleagues across recruitment, marketing and admissions, will be driving the successful recruitment of quality students aligned to strategic targets for postgraduate recruitment across the University. You will work closely with the PVC Deans of College, senior academics, the Head of Admissions and other colleagues across the institution to develop and manage all aspects of PGT and PGR recruitment, using market insights and intelligence to make and inform strategic decisions around long-term portfolio development and ensure the timely processing of applications. You will establish clear direction for both national and international marketing campaigns to achieve business, recruitment and reputational objectives.

The Head of Postgraduate Recruitment will share their knowledge and insights on market intelligence and competitor activities and be able to advise on pricing structures by subject area and types of students according to recruitment needs and the health of the market. This should be achieved through analysis of market data and risks, producing trends and performance reports.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking interested candidates who bring significant experience in leading marketing recruitment operations in a UK higher education setting. Candidates will be experienced in student recruitment and have led the successful development and implementation of recruitment strategies. Ideally, candidates will have had experience in postgraduate student recruitment or demonstrate transferability of relevant experience and skills in this area.

You must be able to contribute to strategy development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve measurable targets. You will need to demonstrate your experience working with senior level staff, ideally within a similar type of higher education environment.
