Job Description: The Food Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our college’s restaurant, supporting the day-to-day activities, and maintaining a high standard of service. Reporting to the Hospitality and Catering Manager, the Food Technician is responsible for a range of tasks aimed at facilitating excellent learning experiences for students and providing a positive dining experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Restaurant Operations: Assist in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Food Ordering: Manage food orders, ensuring that supplies are ordered in a timely manner and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Financial Administration: Liaise with the finance department to organize invoices and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and hygienic environment within the kitchens, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Event Management: Coordinate service days and events, both internally and externally, ensuring smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
- Student Support: Provide support to students in their learning, offering guidance and assistance as needed to help them develop their skills.
- Customer Experience: Ensure customers receive a positive dining experience, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for providing outstanding service and support to learners and customers alike.
