We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic school caretaker to join our small, friendly team. Halton is a happy and thriving school and requires a self-motivated, reliable and resourceful individual with good basic DIY skills to effectively manage site services, minor repairs and maintenance. Additional duties will include maintaining the daily cleanliness of the school working alongside our contract cleaners, as well as keeping the grass areas on site tidy.

We are seeking someone who has good communication skills, takes pride in their work and wants the school to look its best.

Term time only?

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 2 £12.82 – £14.04 per hour

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 30 hours per week, 7.00am-10.00am and 3.00pm-6.00pm, Monday to Friday for 39 weeks per year plus extra days at Headteacher’s discretion

About the role

The role includes a wide range of responsibilities and duties connected with the premises such as building maintenance, grounds, facilities, general maintenance, security and Health and Safety. You will work alongside the Headteacher and support staff as well as liaising with external contractors. As with any role in school, every day is different and you will have colleagues to support you.

About you

Previous experience is not essential as we can provide training for the right person.

– You will be willing to give it a go and be a creative thinker, always looking for solutions.
– Some experience of DIY would be advantageous.
– You will need to be able to work independently in a busy environment and be able to use your own initiative.
