Job description: Motor Vehicle Mechanical Technician / Repair and Maintenance Mechanic who has experience in maintaining and repairing either manufacturing / plant equipment or motor vehicles or HGV / heavy vehicles with excellent problem-solving skills is required for leading global aviation equipment provider based in Edinburgh Airport.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED
Providing you have a solid mechanical engineering background repairing motor vehicles, plant equipment, LGV / HGV Lorries or similar the company will provide additional training and support.
SALARY: Competitive + Overtime + Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Edinburgh Airport
JOB TYPE: Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 0600h-1430h / 0800h-1630h
After obtaining an Airside Pass this will change to a 4-week roster which is as follows:
Week 1 – Monday to Friday
Week 2 – Monday to Friday
Week 3 – Monday to Sunday
Week 4 – Wednesday to Friday
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates MUST hold a full Driving Licence

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Motor Vehicle Mechanical Technician / Repair and Maintenance Mechanic who has experience in maintaining and repairing either manufacturing / plant equipment or motor vehicles or HGV / heavy vehicles.
Working as the Motor Vehicle Mechanical Technician / Repair and Maintenance Mechanic you will play a crucial part in the success of the company by offering your expert mechanical knowledge in order to diagnose and repair equipment, such as towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators and a variety of specialist and unique vehicles.
As the Motor Vehicle Mechanical Technician / Repair and Maintenance Mechanic will be mechanically skilled and a good problem solver in order to effectively maintain onsite equipment and vehicles.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Motor Vehicle Mechanical Technician / Repair and Maintenance Mechanic include:
- Diagnosing and repairing on-site vehicles within the airport ground service equipment industry such as:
- Towing tractors
- Aircraft tugs
- Baggage elevators
- A range of specialist and unique vehicles
- Perform repairs and maintenance from the workshop and airside
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical engineering background, motor vehicle, HGV or plant equipment
- Previous experience working small or heavy plant equipment is desirable
- Able to obtain an airside pass which requires a criminal record check and 5-year history verification
- City and Guilds certification in Motor Mechanics or equivalent (essential)
- Any Welding experience would be highly desirable
