The GAD conference agendas are uniquely focussed on structuring public/private partnerships and hybrid consortia, best practice in financial and commercial strategy and winning business models for airports.
The GAD forum is now a unique networking opportunity for board-level representatives of global airport operators, senior government officials and public airport owners, investors in airport assets, financiers, airport CEOs and expert industry strategists. GAD is the place where insights are shared at the highest level, partnerships established and business is done.
GAD Americas was launched in Denver in 2018 to consider the particular dynamics of the Latin American, US and Canadian markets and develop partnership opportunities in these regions.
GAD sits within a family of Aviation brands, Routes, CAPA, ASM and ATW and we are driving a strategy grow the customer and content synergies across all these platforms. The Business Development Manager will play a key role in developing these synergy opportunities.
Job Description
As the Business Development Manager for Global Airport Development (GAD), the primary responsibility is to achieve GAD event revenue targets, including sponsorship, exhibition and delegate sales. The BDM will also collaborate closely with key accounts to identify new business and cross-selling opportunities, as well as foster strategic relationships within the GAD community. Key client areas include airport operators, aviation consultancies, infrastructure investment and financial institutions.
Close collaboration with the Head of Partnerships at CAPA – Centre for Aviation and the GAD Head of Conference Production is essential to drive the strategic development and growth of the business.
The role will be expected to work to allocated targets on a monthly and quarterly basis, building pipelines and prospects, managing major accounts booking journey and communicating packages to the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve revenue targets through the sale of exhibition, sponsorship, delegate packages, and marketing services across live events and digital platforms.
- Utilise Salesforce (CRM system) to manage and maintain accurate records, reporting forecasts, pipelines, and sales updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key accounts and the GAD community
- Work closely with the Head of Partnerships and GAD Head of Conference Production to contribute to the overall growth and development of the GAD brand and product suite.
- Identify and drive new business and cross-selling opportunities
- Working with marketing and other departments to help generate leads
- Self sourcing business potential through research, competitor channels, data sources, industry knowledge, event attendance
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of demonstrable experience in a B2B sales environment, preferably within the events sector.
- Strong business development skills with a proven ability to secure opportunities and close sales.
- Demonstrated consultative sales approach across high-value opportunities, handling complex briefs with creative solutions.
- Proficient in Salesforce and digital trading, with a basic understanding of lead-generating marketing activities.
- Exceptional relationship management skills at the senior board level.
- Experience in planning, developing, and executing strategic sales plans, producing accurate forecasts.
- Comfortable working in a results-driven culture, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- International travel capability.
- Basic understanding of digital marketing and the marketing funnel.
- Proficient in LinkedIn Premium and Navigator.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in the Infrastructure Finance/Aviation/Events sector are advantageous.
