The role
The Insurance Manager will support the ITV Insurance function globally and deputise for Head of Group Insurance as and when required. No two days within the ITV insurance team function are the same, one day you can be arranging non-owned aviation insurance for I’m a Celebrity in Australia and the next you can be working on a claim for non-appearance of key cast member on a high end TV drama.
The key responsibilities of the Insurance Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible and accountable for the insured claims strategy and process for uninsured claims both internally and externally, with referral to the Head of Group Insurance as necessary. Handling a wide range of queries and requests from the business relating to insured, uninsured claims and claims defensibility strategy.
- Lead the activity of the outsourced sub-deductible management on No a day-to-day basis ensuring the outsourced team roles and responsibilities are adhered to.
- Work with Global Risk Operations, Data privacy, Finance, Legal, Insurance Brokers, Insurers, Reinsurers, Loss Adjusters and other functions as necessary, to ensure alignment with the company risk framework
- Identify and implement areas for continual improvement.
- Accountability for the dedicated insurance email inbox for day-to-day queries and raising of purchase orders and overseeing payments to third parties.
- Work with Head of Group Insurance to construct a fit for purpose insurance programme covering Company risks
- Assist Head of Group Insurance to negotiate the price and coverage terms of all group insurance policy contracts.
- Assist Head of Group Insurance to deal with all insurance related administration including premium allocations, recharges, invoicing, adjustments, and policy documentation.
- Deputise for the Head of Group Insurance when required, in managing and overseeing the running of the Company’s captive.
- Advise the business on insurance purchase decisions for one off projects sometimes at short notice.
- Gather quality underwriting information to present the Company as a suitable risk for the insurance market.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- GCCE/ A-Level, Insurance qualifications or working towards.
- Relevant and demonstrable experience of working for an insurer, broker or in risk management, preferably with companies with international operations with experience managing key partner relationships. 10 years insurance experience is preferable.
- Being able to understand complex ideas and articulate them simply to non-insurance experts
- A proven ability to adapt individual style to manage stakeholder requirements
- Experienced in independent decision making in a dynamic and/or time pressured environment
- Demonstrable problem solving approach to addressing difficult issues with the flexibility and pragmatism to adapt to business requirements

- High level of personal organisation, planning and administration skills including accountability and ownership of third party relationships

- Excellent communications and presentation skills, to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing.
- Strong ability with numbers and good working knowledge of Excel
- Demonstrable attention to detail
- Good interpersonal, organisation and leadership qualities with the ability to influence at all levels, persuade and build strong relationships both within the organisation and externally
- Resilient when faced with conflict
- Challenges effectively to influence the right business decisions
- Well established business acumen and understanding of business operations
