To make this happen, we are seeking individuals who are passionate about technology, to take our products into service and then provide the quality of support that together with great design and development, will see our systems used and loved by our customers.

You will play a pivotal role in defining the software solution for our clients/product stakeholders by analysis of the relevant business models and requirements, processes, work-streams and flows of data – capturing and agreeing the requirements for translation into specifications for incremental delivery.

What are the key objectives?

  • Responsible for the capture, analysis, and documentation of detailed requirements for complex software development projects, working alongside our development teams and product stakeholders
  • Elicit requirements/criteria, constraints, and options via a variety of techniques such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards
  • Translate technical requirements into product epics, features, and user stories as well as highly specified project briefs in collaboration with our development teams
  • Determine and specify the who/what/why, acceptance criteria, information flows, processes, and data structures to meet functional and non-functional requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis on problem areas to identify the way forward working with the team at various stages to get wider input
  • Refine narrative details with use cases, information flows, rules, and data elements into highly specified technical project briefs

Requirements

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge the divide between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Someone who is genuinely passionate about leveraging technology to solve pressing challenges in the UK rail industry
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Technical Experience

  • Agile Business Analysis experience from business case development through all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Proven ability to translate business/product requirements into detailed requirements for software development teams
  • Significant technical understanding of business analysis frameworks, benefits management, business processes modeling, requirements analysis and functional decomposition
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a applied in a practical problem-solving approach
  • Skilled in work management of analysis activities and deliverables with traceability and change control
  • Familiar with work item / criteria management and collaboration tools (Resonate toolset includes Azure DevOps, Confluence, and MS Teams)

Professional Qualifications

  • Additional certifications in Business Analysis or Agile would be an extra bonus!

This role could be based in Derby, Milton Keynes, or London.
