Job description: A highly respectable school in South Bristol are looking for a Food Technology Teacher from September to aid them within their successful department.
This is a new co-ed academy in south Bristol since, initially began with Year 7 students and plans to expand annually to accommodate 900 young learners. Their focus lies in providing top education in a supportive environment where every student is cherished and encouraged to excel.
To fill the position, they are looking for an ECT or an experienced teacher. A successful educator will be knowledgeable in the material and passionate about the Technology world to inspire the next generation of Design and Food Aspirers.
This position deals with a timetable that includes both resistant materials and food technology. The school are flexible in negotiating how much of the curriculum is spent on what topic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students of varying ages and abilities.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students and aid them in their journey of creativity and independence.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical cooking lessons, whilst maintaining a high standard of food preparation and presentation.
- Assess students to provide constructive criticism and encouragement, keep an up-to-date record pf the students achievements.
- Collaborate with other members of staff to produce curriculum materials and assessment strategies.
- Be knowledgeable of current trends and developments in technology and incorporate these and technology methods into your lessons.
- Promote healthy eating habits and highlight the importance of sustainable food practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of safety and hygiene when it comes to technological studies.
- Effective communication skills, both none verbal and verbal, allowing you to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
- Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize certain tasks efficiently.
