Job description: You will integrate into a multicultural and multinational team with people based in the UK, Ireland, and France (with your direct manager based in France).

As the Accounting Director, you will manage a team of three experienced accounting professionals based in the UK as well as dedicated team members (
10 FTEs) from our BPO. As leader you will ensure that your team delivers timely and accurate results according to defined targets.

You will be leading all accounting and finance activities for the entities registered in the UK. This includes ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. You will own the relationship with the company’s auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders. You will ensure compliance with UK GAAP and company accounting policies. As leader of the Account Receivables and Payables teams, you will drive improvements to process efficiency and working capital management.

Other than the onboarding phase and occasional meetings (which will take place in the company’s Canary Wharf office), the position is home based. As a result, we are looking for a candidate that has a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • General accounting tasks
  • Manage accounting team and the BPO relationship
  • Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements (three entities, one operating and two holding companies) for statutory and group reporting
  • Manage the group and statutory audits
  • Engage with external tax advisors and internal tax team
  • Ensure all necessary entries and adjustments are recorded
  • Support any ad hoc requests
  • Specificities of the entity
  • Entities are part of a US-based group
  • One operating entity and two holding entities based in the UK
  • Interactions with the BPO (Genpact) responsible for recording entries and processing transactions

Qualifications

Experience & education:

  • Experience
  • Accountancy credentials (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Significant years of experience in accounting, ideally in a multinational company
  • Experience in people management
