Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in food technology to students of varying ages and abilities.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students can explore their creativity and develop practical skills.
- Teach students fundamental cooking techniques, food hygiene, nutrition, and recipe development.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical cooking sessions, ensuring a high standard of food preparation and presentation.
- Incorporate technology into teaching methods, utilizing tools and software to enhance the learning experience.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of their achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, schemes of work, and assessment strategies.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in food technology, and incorporate them into teaching practice.
- Promote healthy eating habits and the importance of sustainable food practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Specialization or strong background in food technology, culinary arts, or related fields.
- Previous experience teaching food technology or a related subject is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a love for food and cooking.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in incorporating cooking techniques into teaching methods.
