The shift pattern is 5 days over 7.

An exciting opportunity is now available within East Renfrewshire HSCP with development of the new Blood & Go service as part of the Community Treatment Room and Care Service (CTAC).

We are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Healthcare Assistants to provide interventions to patients within the new Community Treatment and Care Services across East Renfrewshire, which are being developed through the local Primary Care Improvement Plan (PCIP) as part of the new GMS Contract, 2018.

The Community Treatment and Care service delivers care to individuals in clinic GP practice & home settings across East Renfrewshire to patients who are referred by GPs and wider members of the Primary Care team. The service provides skilled interventions that encompass a broad range of technical expertise, health education and health promotion in order to promote and maintain independent living for patients and support for carers.

The Community Health care Assistant will be expected to work as part of a team have the ability to work without direct supervision to provide healthcare community care assistant support to patients in the community, treatment room clinic/GP practice and in their own homes.

The post holder will support the delivery of effective patient care within a community setting. Daily workload will be varied and can cover several community settings within East Renfrewshire with a range of delegated activities. Clinical duties will include phlebotomy blood Pressure checks oxygen saturations readings assist with the collection of urine specimens ECG and Intramuscular Injections. A comprehensive training and competency program will be provided.

Experience of working in a health or social care environment and Scottish Vocational Qualifications Level 2/3 or equivalent experience is required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Full driving licence car driver owner is desirable to this post.
