We are offering a secondment opportunity to work as a Business Analyst in an established Business Analysis Practice within IT Services.

Are you analytical and like solving problems? Can you take a difficult concept and find a way to communicate it clearly to others? Do you enjoy learning new skills and working with a variety of teams? Help us shape IT solutions to work well for students, academics and administrators; come and work with us in the Business Analysis team in IT Services.

We would like someone to join us for 12 months and bring their University knowledge to our projects. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to develop their business analysis skills and act as a subject matter expert within our projects, making use of their University experience.

About the role

  • As a Business Analyst, you will work collaboratively with project managers, representatives from departments and colleges, end-users and technical teams, both within IT and the wider University, to deliver systems that align with the University strategy. Using your Oxford University knowledge, you will work with us to identify business problems and possible solutions, and design and describe solutions that deliver value.
  • There are a number of key projects planned to which you will be able to contribute, supported by a Lead Business Analyst. We will provide appropriate training and guidance to help you develop key skills and capabilities as a part of this opportunity.
  • In this role, you will be based in our office in central Oxford; however, you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager. We will also consider part time applications for this role.

About You

  • You will have a good understanding of many of the University practices and structures, and have an appreciation of how IT may offer opportunities to improve services and underlying processes.
  • You will be analytical and enjoy solving problems, and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. You will have an ability to prioritise your own workload and manage conflicting demands on your time.
