The Opportunity

We are looking for a new Aviation Claims Surveyor / Adjuster to join our successful and stable global team, either Heathrow or London City based with hybrid working. We seek someone with current industry skills and knowledge to join and be trained in the specific role to handle aviation insurance claims on behalf of insurers and interested parties, and additionally undertaking some other consultancy tasks as required.

We will provide relevant training for the successful candidate joining our well established and stable team active in knowledge transfer, and we provide a competitive salary and benefits package.

Reporting to the Regional Director – Europe, the role will have accountability for McLarens Aviation claims handling, assignments, reporting, file management and time recording. These tasks will be carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures and with full use of the McLarens One global claims management system.

The Role – Your Responsibilities

Operations

  • Providing technical expertise and input into the Insurance industry through reporting and dialog with many stakeholders including Insurers, Brokers, Insured parties (Operators, Owners, Lessors, OEMs etc) on a wide variety of aircraft types covering small incidents to large accidents and many circumstances in between
  • Using your high level of technical competence to assess many types of past and current generation aircraft
  • Using good quality interpersonal skills and written reports as a key element of reporting on detail
  • Using your experience in a range of roles covering time conscious, independent and team focussed activity with a technical based aviation hands on skill set and an understanding of customer needs
  • Effectively managing project files and work in progress with timely responses to enquiries
  • Close liaison with clients and colleagues
  • Ensuring activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care

Business Development

  • Develop a strong awareness of our client base and perform marketing functions
  • Identifying and contributing to new business development opportunities and account retention

About You – Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Enthusiasm to expand your horizons, learn and work in a variety of new and interesting situations
  • Experience of close teamwork, unexpected circumstances, and practical knowledge of some current generation aircraft maintenance and structural repairs
  • Experience in roles covering time conscious, independent and team focused activity with a technical based aviation hands on skill set, and an understanding of customer needs
  • A willingness to learn
  • The ability to undertake some short notice UK and overseas travel
  • The ability to immediately work without restrictions in the UK
  • A High level of technical competence on current generation aircraft
  • EASA / UK Part 66 licence
  • The ability to prepare concise and accurate reports for technical and non-technical readers
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable development of working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Computer literacy with a practical understanding of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
