Job description: About the Role

The HR Team are looking for a HR Advisor to provide some support for a 10-month period as a result of a team secondment.

You will be joining a team of 18 HR, Payroll, Learning and Development colleagues who provide a HR service to over 800 employees over 2 councils.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working flexibly between home and our offices in Maidstone town centre and Sittingbourne town centre. Both offices have free parking. Part-time working will be considered.

You will work within the HR Shared Service function providing an excellent service to Swale and Maidstone Borough Councils. The post holder will work within a busy HR team providing professional advice and guidance to managers and staff throughout the organisation predominantly on recruitment and sickness absence.

The Council considers this to be a customer focused roles and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

About You:

You will have experience of building and maintaining great relationships with managers and employees, acting as a key point of contact in delivering positive outcomes in a professional manner.

You will be experienced in providing support, advice and guidance on absence management, recruitment and selection and writing policies in line with best practice and employment law legislation.

You will have a good understanding of employment legislation, have excellent communication skills and the ability to present clear advice and guidance.

Selection Process:
