Your role:

The GMCA Strategy Team provides core day-to-day support to the Mayor, GMCA leaders and the wider organisation including with advice, briefing, government engagement and parliamentary engagement.

This is an exciting role within the Strategy Team leading on building and maintaining relationships with Greater Manchester’s MPs and Lords to enhance Greater Manchester’s position at the forefront of English devolution. This will include ensuring parliamentarians and their staff are regularly briefed on GMCA activity, and monitoring and reporting back to senior GMCA officials on key parliamentary activity.

This post will also support the Public Affairs Principal by supporting engagement with Government Ministers and Senior Civil Servants.

About you:

You should have excellent knowledge and understanding of how parliament and Whitehall works, and experience of working with MPs and Lords. You should be enthusiastic about building strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance Greater Manchester’s position at the forefront of devolution.

You should be passionate about the role devolution can play in building a greener, fairer and more prosperous Greater Manchester.

You should be able to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner, and you should have excellent self-motivation with the ability to work under your own initiative.
