Contract Type: Fixed term for three years

Location: Gene Therapy Innovation & Manufacturing Centre (GTIMC)

The GTIMC is one of three cutting-edge innovation hubs in the UK dedicated to advancing the clinical development of new genetic treatments for millions of patients with life-threatening diseases. The three hubs form a national network coordinated by the LifeArc and the Medical Research Council (MRC).

We are recruiting a Warehouse Operator to establish and maintain GMP-compliant warehousing procedures at the GTIMC. Specifically, the role will involve procurement, managing deliveries and dispatch, stock management, and coordinating material flow throughout the facility. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will be essential to the­ operational management of our facility.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain warehousing procedures at the GTIMC, working with internal departments to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, are compliant with the relevant GTIMC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and are in accordance with GMP.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, and relevant teams at the university.
  • Ensure that warehousing activities abide by proper health & safety and security standards.
  • Oversee GTIMC procurement, incoming and outgoing deliveries, proper storage of materials, stock taking, and the resolution of any issues or complaints relating to these activities.
  • Contribute towards the establishment and management of material flow processes throughout the GTIMC.
  • Work with the GTIMC Training Lead and Quality department to ensure that warehousing procedures are fit-for-purpose, and that warehouse staff are appropriately trained.
  • Inspection and approval of the quantity and quality of goods or equipment being received or shipped out of the GTIMC.
  • Contribute towards the establishment and management of a computerised system for warehousing.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory activities pertaining to GTIMC warehousing.
  • Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

This post is fixed term for 36 months with potential for further extension and is available immediately.
