This role will work within the Birmingham Delivery Centre team, serving a global automotive client. The team creates brand communications, delivering award-winning creative and marketing effectiveness across end-to-end customer communications.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Delivery Lead, the Content Lead is responsible for the delivery of the key projects through the team as well as managing a team of Content Editors and QA’s.
They will help deliver the most complex client projects alongside overseeing the delivery of all projects, as such excellent knowledge of the client’s Websites and Content Management System is required.
They will show strong team management ability alongside technical knowledge, supporting and developing team members, running team meetings and performance reviews under the guidance of the Delivery Lead. They will also be required to lead training for new starters and ensure that any training is properly documented.
This role is key in being able to demonstrate that the Content Editing team is seen as one that is seen as high-performing: delivering a high-quality output, on-time, in a collaborative way.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the Delivery Lead and acting as the direct manager of a high-performing content editing team to deliver content to a client’s UK websites
- Lead UK builds and more complex builds, working as an editor for key builds as well as managing the team working on a variety of projects. Including
– Quarterly offer updates
– Brand Campaign launches
– New product launches
– Tactical offers
– BAU/ad hoc updates * Help inform content strategy and be the champion for what great content looks like across the site
- Responsible for promoting policies and procedures across the team either technical or general office
- Ensure that we have in place the right technical steps for delivery. Preparing adequately for launches, ensuring best practice is followed at all times and embargo protecting content.
- Help run training sessions within the team identifying when these are required and sharing their knowledge as well as creating supporting documentation.
- Help with resourcing and planning, reporting back on the status of their team’s capacity and projects
- Assign out work to their team members via an established ticketing system
- Being an approachable go to for technical knowledge as an expert editor within the team
- Be an initial escalation point for any issues and ensure that members of the team know they can come to you
- Responsible for escalation of risks or issues from the team which will affect project and either mitigating or communicating those up as required
- Responsible for the reputation of the team as a senior member
- A want to lead and inspire the team and especially new Content Editors, leading by example with both quality of work and overall professionalism in the business
- Giving actionable feedback and guidance to team members in line with the expected standard of work and professionalism
- Delivery useful and actionable performance reviews and team meetings with their direct reports
- Be pro-active in improvements for their team and the wider team, but with an eye on the impact of any of these changes

Experience/Skills:

- Ability to understand both technical requirements as well as creative mandatories
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- Full training will be provided but prior experience is preferred, particularly Sharepoint or Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience of leading and developing teams is essential
- Experience of managing a varied workload for teams
