Do you have a passion for finance and education? Are you an experienced leader, ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role? Our client, a leading educational organisation, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Finance Operations to join their team.
As the Head of Finance Operations, you will report directly to the CFO and lead a central finance team responsible for providing financial and accounting services across the organisation. You will play a crucial role in supporting the CFO in the strategic development of the organisation and have direct access to the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation, ensuring financial compliance across all schools.
- Provide financial information and analysis to Trustees, including monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cashflow forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
- Manage cash flow projections and investments to maximise returns.
- Maintain capital accounts and ensure capital projects remain within budget.
- Identify and manage financial risks, maintaining the organisation’s risk register.
- Lead the central finance team in delivering sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll functions.
- Develop and improve financial systems to support the organisation’s growth.
Requirements:
- Professional accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
- Extensive experience in a financial management role.
- Public Sector Industry experience
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in financial software.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
