SENIOR SITE ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT
MANSFIELD
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Site Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Mansfield area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work on our Mansfield Flood Resilience Project on the Severn Trent Water Framework within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.
As a Senior Site Engineer, you will report to the Operations Director and take full responsibility for setting out, engineering control and quality in addition to coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team.
It will be your role to coordinate site engineering control and setting out activities and provide information to operatives and subcontractors. You will Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resource as well as manage the Coordination of subcontractors to ensure they achieve programme outputs.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible writing, reviewing and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s). Ensuring works are carried out as per ITP’s including correct engineering checks, hold points, inspections and tests.
Our Environment Business has entrepreneurism and innovation at its heart. Part of your role as Senior Site Engineer will be identify and assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations on site.
Your role forms an essential part of the site delivery team, it will be down to you to control and update programmes, attend coordination meetings and daily/ biweekly, monthly and 3 monthly lookaheads as required and ensure constant communication and liaison with the commercial team providing detailed information to allow for accurate financial reporting including compensation events (CE) and early warnings (EW’s).
It will be your role to ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW), Project Works Information and drawings and raise design related Request for Information (RFI’s) and Technical Queries (TQ’s).
It will be the responsibility of the Senior Site Engineer to ensure accurate and timely records are kept including site diaries, quality assurance documentation (QA), photos, as-built surveys, red-line drawings and test results.
Quality is of utmost importance so part of your role will include managing the snagging system that records and clears all snags and notifies commercial team and subcontractors and well as to control and minimise waste on site.

About You:
As well as your relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways, Rail, water or aviation) and the ability to read and interpret data and drawings, we are seeking individuals who are confident with standard setting out techniques and the ability to use Level and EDM, preferably with a knowledge of GPS.
To be successful in this role, you’ll demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and display strong problem-solving skills.
Previous relevant business experience or transferable skills gained in other areas and a working knowledge of one functional area through job experience or training is desirable, but not essential.
Working on site, we’d like you to have SMSTS and CSCS. However, we will support you in covering any training needs.
