Finance Administrator at University of Kent
Job Description
Working as part of the Finance Shared Services (FSS) team with a focus on service delivery to academic Divisions, the Finance Administrator will process various financial transactions and perform finance operations activities across key functional areas, all the time ensuring that relevant University policies and processes are adhered to.
We currently have three Finance Administrator roles available, one full time position (35 hours per week) and two part time positions (28 hrs per week).

As Finance Administrator you can expect to be involved in:
- Providing transactional support to Divisions in close liaison with the Finance Officer (FSS), other staff in FSS, relevant Business Partners in the Finance Directorate and contacts in Divisions; ensuring that divisional service requirements are professionally and efficiently delivered while complying with University and other financial regulations.
- Exhibit competency for organised service delivery and customer care, primarily facilitated by the TopDesk service management system and other finance systems/facilities.
- Promote adherence to the University’s Finance processes and procedures by Divisional colleagues.
- Effectively deliver finance transactional services to Divisions, notably in the raising of purchase orders, goods receipting, supplier invoice approvals, credit card purchases, travel booking and staff expense claims
What we are looking for in the right candidate:
- GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
- Foundation level financial qualification (e.g. AAT) and actively studying towards full qualification, or willingness to undertake such studies or equivalent
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of databases and spreadsheets
- Experience of answering enquiries, particularly of a financial nature
- A customer focused approach to work
