This is a key role in the team which will help to deliver Group objectives on consistency, consolidation and climate solutions.This role offers an excellent opportunity for rotation, across the various asset management functions.ContextAs a team, we must deliver on many of the Group’s strategic priorities: harmonisation of approach across the heritage businesses and, where appropriate, between different types of business, avoidance of financial risk emanating from the climate emergency and innovating to provide cost-effective and risk-efficient exposure to a well-diversified asset base for policyholders.You will be responsible for carrying out complex investment analysis, managing complex processes and providing evidence that a robust risk and control framework is in place.Our work requires timely responses to internal and external parties – governance committees, Trustees and consultants, fund managers, administrators and others. Balancing priorities and managing expectations is a key skill for this role.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve upon existing investment analysis and procedures to provide robust, effective and efficient investment processes and controls when reviewing and subsequently revising policyholder SAAs
  • Present output to relevant governance committees, stakeholders across the business and external parties such as Trustees and investment consultants
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders across the business and with external parties to assess the impact on risk capital requirements resulting from proposed changes
  • Ensure approved changes are implemented efficiently via effective communication with all parties, including fund managers, with solutions to evolving issues proposed if required
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procedures and processes and maintain evidence to provide an audit trail as required
  • Be ready to adapt to the requirements of different types of work (by planning and organising effectively) and work to challenging timescales

  • Interest in and desire to learn more about listed and private markets
  • Numerate and analytical
  • Strong verbal and written communication

Desirable

  • Familiarity with principles of investment risk management
  • Effective communicator, comfortable presenting proposals for change and influencing stakeholders whose approval is required

Qualification(s)

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Holder of or willing to work towards Investment Management Certificate
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (desirable)
