Job Purpose:Part of a small sales team, you will provide leadership, guidance, support, and motivation to achieve sales targets for our school holiday programmes, site-based community facilities (public campsite, river use), large scale events, family activities and more. The ideal candidate must have a strong sales background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for making a difference in communities as we look to satisfy community needs and deliver impactful programmes for children, young people and adults whilst optimising the fabulous asset that is Fairthorne Manor.The role will grow awareness of our offer, significantly improve our reach, and enhance our reputation as the go-to family destination of choice on the south coast.You will be responsible for identifying and building sustainable new income streams and maintaining excellent relationships with our existing customer base. This will require reaching out to the local community to understand their needs and maintaining an excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Directors to develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth for community programmes.
  • Mentor, motivate and work alongside a small team, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship building with potential customers.
  • Collaborate with marketing and delivery teams to develop compelling sales materials, promotional strategies and communication methods tailored to client needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, other non-profit organizations, and corporate partners.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the community engagement space.
  • Ensure effective review processes are in place to respond to customer need, improve services and increase retention.
  • Track sales performance metrics, analyse data, and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and tactics.
  • Represent the organisation at local community and other relevant events, to promote our community programmes, improve awareness of our offer and broaden our reach.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in community engagement and social impact.
  • Work with our marketing team to delivery a strategy to ensure our visible online presence including website and social media platforms.
  • Work with our operational team to effectively plan and sell large scale surplus generating events that optimise the use of our large site.
  • Ensure the role of the Sales and Service Team is clearly understood and actively supported by other teams.
  • Manage and oversee interpretation, management, and security of sales data via our CRM and other systems to provide insight and opportunities for Business Development
  • Manage and oversee our online webstore in liaison with our IT and marketing teams.

Person Specification & Key CompetenciesQualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and management skills including attention to detail.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Previous experience in large scale events/programme management (10 000 pax and above) would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a demonstrable ability to provide clear thinking and rational decision making.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement, understanding customer requirements and delivering impact programmes to scale.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Results-oriented with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, online store management and sales analytics tools.
  • Experience of social media and other community marketing tools.
  • An ability to absorb and retain a wide variety of product information.
  • An ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and accurately to deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Full driving license required.
