Job Title: Accounting Associate

Salary: £33,800+ dependent upon experience

Contract Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

Location : Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Job Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity is available in the Peterborough based finance team that are responsible for the Perkins Engines Company Limited Legal Entity (PECL). PECL is the biggest Caterpillar Legal entity in the UK and typically has annual revenues in excess of $2Bn. In the year ahead, the Legal Entity team are due to support the implementation of a new ERP system, and this role will provide the additional resource required to both meet regular reporting and control requirements and support the ERP project.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Preparation of various journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the month end close cycle

Developing/Maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with enterprise policies and procedures.

Supporting internal and external audit

Support the Implementation and Transition to a new ERP System

Skills and Experience:

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

Experience in an accounting role

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to summarise and communicate to management / non-finance customers.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Experienced user of Microsoft office

Experience of accounting in a complex manufacturing environment

Working towards or completed Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

QAD EE ERP system.
