Job Description

The agriculture team at Derby College Group (DCG) are a small, hands-on and extremely hard-working team, striving for excellence at all times. They adopt a professional and industry correct manner and create an environment where the care and promotion of the animals is the primary concern.  

About you

You should be organised and have excellent interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team. Your primary focus will be supporting and assisting students to achieve their qualifications and making sure they are industry ready. This role has a particular focus on all livestock related units and having the knowledge and skills to be working with the college’s sheep, cattle and pigs. You will be the liaison between the farm and the teaching staff on all animal related matters.

Whilst there are guided working hours for this role, as in all agricultural related jobs, the day finishes when all the duties are done, and not when the finishing time comes around, therefore a willingness to work flexibly is required.
