Job description: Academics are recruiting on behalf of a College in Bournemouth which caters for young people aged 16 – 25 years who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and associated mental health conditions.They are looking for an experienced IT teacher who is available to start ASAP to carry out a full-time, ongoing contract, to plan and deliver IT/Computer Science.This position will be suited to someone with previous experience of working in an SEN setting or with students with Autism/Aspergers, but not essential. Many of the learners display challenging behaviour and may also suffer with mental health conditions that impact their ability to achieve their potential so the ideal candidate will be calm, empathetic and encouraging.Students have individual learning plans encompassing the key features of post-16 study programmes, tailored to their needs, abilities and preferences.
