As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will not only ensure that customer requirements are met but also have the opportunity to work closely with customers to understand their needs and generate new business opportunities.Responsibilities:Personnel Supervision
- Lead and oversee a small group of tool room machinists and welders, ensuring their productivity and adherence to customer requirements.
- Monitor work and production levels, conducting performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
- Create and maintain personnel records, including time and performance records.
- Counsel employees on work-related issues and promote a safe working environment.
- Coordinate employee training in machine/equipment operations, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies for employees.
Production & Quality
- Train team members in machining parts to specifications using a range of machine tools and support equipment.
- Conduct test runs to verify part compliance with specifications and make necessary design changes.
- Manage tool requests and services, reporting machine and performance issues regularly.
- Collaborate with Engineering on tool testing and contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Maintain tool life usage and minimize waste through effective monitoring and control.
- Undertake diverse jobs with limited instruction, relying on sketches, verbal communication, and print information to meet project requirements.
- Ensure high levels of production and efficiency while adhering to processing schedules and production orders.
- Utilize the Information System (Plexus) to manage operations, track performance, and maintain department documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews to ensure compliance with specifications, inspection, reliability, safety, and quality system objectives.
- Coordinate the selection and implementation of accurate machining tools and equipment.
- Account for inventory as needed and facilitate the disposition of reject products and materials.
- Develop and plan jobs, setting priorities based on part criticality, delivery, machine availability, and other factors, to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing supervisory role is required.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CNC mills/lathes, manual mills/lathes, drill presses, jig bores, sanders, grinders, and other relevant equipment.
- Strong knowledge of interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection techniques.
Expected salary: $65000 – 80000 per year
