Job description: An opportunity to join a global insurance business has arisen for an experienced in-house lawyer with exposure to insurance regulation as well as general commercial contracts. This is a fully remote role working with an established and flexible team of 6 lawyers. Reporting to the Head of Legal you will: – Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements and contracts to reflect current and changing business/legal needs and the company’s objectives; – Assess risks associated with particular contract provisions and provide alternative contract language or provisions to allow for appropriate development of business practices and procedures; – Assist with design, review and implementation of strategic projects including development of new products and service; – Lead negotiations with clients and, working alongside compliance, regulators; and – Manage and facilitate instruction of external counsel for specialist insurance advice (where required) and for other territories. This role can be recruited at legal counsel or senior legal counsel level and would therefore work for a lawyer from 2 – 10 PQE who can demonstrate experience in insurance or financial services. There would be a requirement to visit the North West office every couple of months for important meetings, otherwise this is an excellent opportunity to secure a remote in-house role.
