Job description: We are looking for Support Workers to join our community support service based in Stowmarket on a permanent basis. We have full and part time hours available. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.Support times range from 8am-6pm but could be 9am-4pm or 9.30am-3.30pm. This service does require colleagues to sleep in to ensure the people we are supporting are safe. What’s a sleep-in? ‘Sleep-in shifts’ are those where workers are required to sleep at a residence overnight with the possibility of waking to provide care.You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep-in shifts carried outA car driver with their own car for use at work is essential for this role.About our ServiceYou will work as part of a small team supporting up to 4-5 people to do the things they like to do out in the community. From turning wood to completing the weekly shopping and banking you could help support people with learning disabilities to become more independent. We support people to develop skills and confidence to live the life they want to. You will spend most of your time lone working with the person you support over a number of hours so you will have a real opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with them.If you haven’t worked in support services before don’t worry!
