We are looking for a Language Assistant in Korean to deliver our Korean language offering at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will teach within the framework of the school’s courses delivering Korean language teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, supporting learners and supervising class room activities as appropriate.
This is an open ended, guaranteed hours position with no fixed term end date. The successful candidate is guaranteed to be offered 650 hours during the period 01/09/2024 – 31/08/2025. The hours of work guaranteed will be reviewed on an annual basis at the end of each academic year. This is based on departmental needs, and it is anticipated that the number of hours being offered in each academic year will remain relatively consistent.
Your hours of work and working times may vary, depending on the needs of the university, and you may be offered more than the guaranteed hours stated above.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- An undergraduate degree (minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent).
- Evidence of fluent or near fluent proficiency in Korean and fluency in English.
- Experience in teaching Korean as a foreign language.
- Experience and demonstrable success in delivering effective university teaching.
- Demonstrable capacity to create teaching materials.
- Basic IT skills.
