We service commercial, financial, industrial, municipal, construction, and architectural design engineering clients across the southeast. Our highly qualified staff eagerly turns tough challenges into finished projects. As an Associate Engineer, your primary responsibility is to assist project managers in both our environmental and Geotechnical departments while performing various inspections and assessments covering a variety of solid waste construction sites, buildings, roofing systems, HVAC Systems, foundations, and geotechnical characteristics. You will work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, owners, state and federal regulators, and engineers to perform the required inspection or sampling services at various site locations. You’ll spend roughly fifty percent of your time in the field and the remaining fifty percent will be in the office writing technical reports, including preparation of supporting documents (site figures, cost tables, photologs, appendices, etc.).
Essential Duties & Tasks
- Familiar with the basic principles of mechanical, structural, civil, and geotechnical engineering, including construction and maintenance of structures and systems.
- Data compilation and organization.
- Technical report writing, including preparation of supporting documentation (site figures, cost tables, photologs, appendices, etc).
- Ability to lift and climb ladders.
- Effectively communicate project progress and challenges with project manager(s).
- Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule.
- Coordinate and respond to requests for changes in project scope.
- Communicate report delivery instructions to project managers.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or Construction Sciences or Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates will be required to obtain industry certifications within a reasonable time frame.
- Have basic use knowledge of computer systems and software platforms (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to travel out of town for overnight trips throughout the Southeastern United States.
