Job title: Assistant Accountant

Job description: We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based at Worksop. The role will provide support to the Finance Manager ensuring the completion of all monthly reconciliations and operational requests.Main responsibilities

  • Completion of month end prepayments & accruals postings.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register.
  • Completion of balance sheet accounts reconciled back to the company trial balance.
  • Processing Intercompany recharges.
  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Reconcile and investigating stock discrepancies.
  • Assist in quarterly audit requests.
  • Raising sales invoices on request.
  • Creating and developing reports to support Operational Teams.
  • Ad-hoc tasks when required.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified member of a professional accountancy body AAT/ACCA/CIMA, but not essential.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar accounting role
  • Experience working in a busy finance environment.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of formulas and a basic understanding of pivot tables.
  • Good financial and management accounts knowledge.
  • A passion to challenge, develop and evolve.
  • Attention to detail.
