This large and friendly Secondary Academy based in Smithdown, Liverpool, are looking to appoint a strong Religious Education Specialist to support in KS3 – KS4 levels and work as part of an established team. This is a full-time role, starting after the Christmas break in January 2024. The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching students Religious Education up to KS4. This school were marked as ‘Oustanding’ on their last Ofsted inspection which took place in February 2020. They are a Church of England High School for girls in Years 7 – 11, with a mixed Sixth Form, serving the Diocese of Liverpool and their aim is to develop in their pupils a love of God, an understanding of and respect for the faith and traditions of others, and a real and abiding belief in their own value and self-worth. This is a well established and high achieving school that moved to a new site in 2015 and has continued to thrive in its new, modern environment..

About the Role

Teaching pre-set Key Stage 3/4 students

Delivering pre-set PE sessions

No planning, marking or assessing

Working with children aged from 11 through to 16 years old

Managing an average sized class in the absence of a teacher

Flexiblility to suit your needs

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Religious Education Specialist you will:

  • Have a minimum of 5 days experience working in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build a good rapport with students and staff
  • A passion for working with children, in a calm and authoritative manner
  • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check that is on the Update Service
