Job description: Ballard House Permanent 37 hours per week Grade D (£24,702 to £27,334)An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Democratic and Members Business Support Team at Plymouth City Council. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills for the role of Legal Support Officer.The primary purpose of this role is to lead on Business Support functions which support the Council’s Legal department. This will comprise of a range of administrative duties including management of Freedom of Information requests, various finance and administration tasks, supporting the use of the Tricostar case management system, responding to public queries, and leading on various projects, assignments and tasks to ensure processes are delivered efficiently and effectively, meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders.In order to undertake this role, it is essential that you have the following:

  • GCSE’s A*- C (9-4) or equivalent in English and Maths
  • NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or experience in Business Admin
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office products and web-based software packages
  • Experience of planning priorities and working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service, ensuring that customer and professional queries are dealt with effectively
  • Demonstrable administrative experience with an understanding of office procedures
  • Experience of maintaining documents, records and data e.g. financial records, customer records or accounts.
