There are currently 108 students at the main site. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills.The curriculum is organised to give students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects. We provide high quality education and care and students have access to a range of therapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who support students’ needs. We offer an excellent training package for staff together with a fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking team who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for its pupils.All students have access to swimming at our primary site, a rebound centre and purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area) and playground equipment. We are close to bus and train links and on-site parking is available for staff.About the roleReporting to the Head of School, the successful applicant will take responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated group of children, leading and managing additional adults within the classroom.In this busy, sometimes challenging, but rewarding role, you will work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver appropriate schemes of work closely matching the learning experiences offered with the individual needs of the child. The role includes maintaining assessment records and reporting on pupils’ progress and attainment in accordance with school policy. We have other professionals on site; Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists, supporting teaching and learning with whom you will liaise and work with co-operatively.About youIn order to carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs, have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our students together with high expectations and respect towards students, common sense, warmth and a sense of humour.You will also be enthusiastic and caring, trustworthy and reliable, resilient, healthy, and committed to working as part of a team. Flexibility and a commitment to training is expected.
