The team at Pitch are involved in shaping and accelerating innovation design and delivery for Unilever B&W deliver a step change in the volume of bigger and faster breakthrough innovations for product, content and business models. We also play an important role in creating an environment to craft a new beauty culture within Unilever.Design is a critical capability to create meaningful and relevant brand experiences for our consumers any time they interact with touchpoints relating to our portfolio of products.The ideal candidate must have a passion for beauty, have a design eye for beauty aesthetics and an interest in the industry, keeping up to date with what competitors are doing, emerging semiotic trends and bring these through into your work – everything must look like it belongs in the world of premium beauty!This role provides an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate designer to be at the forefront of development of high impact brand design innovation. As a talented and creative thinker, you will take ideas from conception through to execution and delivery, listening to feedback and adapting to brief. You will be responsible for the quality, creativity, and delivery of a wide variety of projects.With an eye for detail and strong understanding of design principles, you will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and have experience of producing assets across brand all touch points (print, digital and social).In partnership with the Pitch Head of Design you will be responsible for helping develop, challenge and shape design at Pitch, deliver the greatest value for both the consumer and our brands, with incredible design thinking and execution. Always putting the consumer at the heart of what we, what is the problem that we’re trying to solve for them and develop future facing ideas.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the Head of Design and freelance designers to create stimulus for workshops e.g. semiotics, territory boards, consumer persona that clearly meets the brief from the global brand team.
- Use best practice design thinking to stretch briefs making them consumer-centric and future facing.
- Create meaningful purpose driven design solutions
- Support initiation and coordination of feasibility prototypes post-workshop working in collaboration with R&D Packaging & external agency partners.
- Support in continual development of a design network for Pitch consisting of both external and internal relationships to be able to bring the best talent to each project and utilise any learnings that may already exist in the business.
- Stay up to date with both industry trends and best in class examples of design from other categories proactively finding ways to use this knowledge in projects.
- Degree level or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in Graphic Design or other technical creative design qualifications.
- Proficient in some of the following software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InVision/Marvel/Proto.IO for prototyping, Sketch, Powerpoint. Generative AI e.g Midjourney
- Significant experience in graphic design, and digital design for a premium brands or within a creative agency. Ideally experience in luxury, beauty & wellbeing.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates experience in branding, innovation, digital, packaging development, and campaign creation.
- Quick visualization – either sketching and prototyping on paper or digital mock-up.
- Idea generation with active participation in workshops, helping teams to develop early ideas.
- Work as a brand guardian for the brand ensuring brand consistency throughout projects.
- Experienced in collaboration with design agencies and suppliers with the ability to help craft a good design brief.
