Job description: Job DescriptionWould you like to get hands-on work experience and solve real-life problems related to your field of study? We are looking for students to support a variety of engineering projects at our Newark, DE; Elkton, MD; Flagstaff, AZ; and Phoenix, AZ facilities this summer.As a Gore intern, you’ll own a project calling on the skills you’re developing in your field of study, and you’ll work to wrap up the project before your internship ends. You will be encouraged to network and build relationships across functions and plants as well as with other interns. Organized networking opportunities will be planned throughout the summer to help you make connections. You will be introduced to the core values and unique culture that Gore embodies while working in a team-oriented environment.Intern projects span our various engineering disciplines, such as:

  • Automation Controls Engineering
  • Design and Automation Engineering
  • Design Engineering
  • Facilities Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Product Development Engineering
  • Quality Engineering

Location:

  • This role will be located at our facility in Santa Clara, California.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $33.00 – $33.60 per hour
  • Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education and class year.

OPT does not provide authorization to work indefinitely without visa sponsorship within the U.S. Candidates relying on OPT for permission to work in the U.S. for an intern role would not have authorization to work indefinitely without visa sponsorship within the U.S. upon graduation and therefore, we would ask that you withdraw from the interview process for a summer intern position.Required Job Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an ABET accredited B.S. or M.S. degree program in one of the following areas: Bio/Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials (or Polymer) Science, Mechanical Engineering or technical majors in related disciplines with transferable knowledge and experience
  • Successful completion of at least the sophomore year of college prior to start of internship and continued pursuit of degree in the fall
  • Ability to commit to a (minimum) 10-week summer internship
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for digging into technical projects and successfully applying engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity and initiative that leads to deeper understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to an inclusive environment and effectively collaborate with others to solve problems
  • Evidence of hands-on approach and good judgment to work through ambiguity and challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive projects or initiatives to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to be an active learner
