We’ve come a long way, join us to play a key role in the next step of our incredible journey!What are we looking forWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Logistics and Warehousing.This role will lead the end-to-end production planning, logistics management and material control processes to ensure the smooth running of both the warehouse and planning teams which in turn supports various other functions within the business. To ensure as a business, we have the capability to manage all our logistics requirements by putting in place fit for purpose solutions.The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Manufacturing and is a crucial role within the management team to continue with improvements and change processes in this part of our operation. A key focus will be on change implementation and the management of teams to deliver clear process improvements.The role will be responsible for leading a team of individuals to ensure the efficient flow of stock and product throughout our supply chain to minimise cost and wastage and deliver in line with customer requirements.You will be well versed in stock management systems and reporting, and the role will ensure our storage and logistics operations are fit for purpose and able to flex with the growing needs of the business.You will specifically manage:
- Goods in and Materials Control
- Planning and Scheduling
- Logistics – internal movements and external shipping
This position will suit a solution focused self-starter, able to work collaboratively with key departments across the business with sound knowledge of lean methodologies.We’ve taken steps to create sound operating practices in the areas mentioned but we still have significant steps to take to ensure our warehousing and logistics operations support customer focused service delivery.Responsibilities
- To lead the teams responsible for Production planning, Warehouse management and Stock Movement
- To scope, plan, implement and further build on business processes and team requirements in order to deliver in line with business requirements
- Champion all things Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People within the teams
- To monitor stock inventory levels and accuracy to optimise warehousing space to minimise stockouts, excessive inventory and holding costs
- To create, modify and improve processes and procedures within your areas for planning and material control to cover end to end material management
- To work with the VP Operations to agree KPI’s and deliverables to measure and track logistics performance, identify areas for improvement and to drive Continuous Improvement requirements
- Monitor, support, and develop your teams – agreeing key work schedules and objectives
- To take accountability for financial stock counts and report on their completion/variances – and create resolution plans where needed
- To manage the department’s workload and report on progress and risks along with mitigation plans
- To create and deliver strategic plans, optimising logistics operations and delivering efficiencies in line with business needs
- To oversee inbound stock management operations and to facilitate the transportation of goods between our locations and customer sites, across Europe and Internationally – some of these processes will require set up activities
- Working with and through the Procurement to establish relationships and commercial service level agreements with third party logistics providers and manages those relationships on an ongoing basis
- Accountable for the effective running of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operational Planning) activity within ITM
- To lead on the implementation of warehousing management systems and improvement processes
- To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards and quality control procedures in warehousing and logistics
About YouKnowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field
- Leadership development training would be advantageous
- Considerable experience leading sizeable warehousing and logistics operations with a proven track record of delivering key operations improvements – including set up and design activities
- Track record of having delivered considerable change activities
- Previous team leadership – experience +10yrs – able to motivate and inspire teams, drive results and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Demonstrable experience of end-to-end supply chain exposure, with particular emphasis on system focused control of stock and planning, ideally in a manufacturing setting
- Extensive knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems (Dynamics / SAP) but also wider warehouse systems software and technologies
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehousing principles, best practice, and industry standards

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions

- Fundamentally an individual who thrives on finding fixes to a range of operations challenges
