Catalyst, Endava’s close-to-client advisory group provides IT consulting expertise and experience of technology modernization from developing customer engagement systems, to automating operations, utilizing modern data architecture, executing cloud strategy, and securing your business environments. We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced technical leader with outstanding consulting skills earned from your time working directly with clients. As a Principal Architect you will be instrumental in early-stage business-level conversations during pre-sales efforts, as well as taking an active leadership role in engagements focused on delivering solutions for our clients. To deliver on these opportunities, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in enterprise and solution architecture within non-Financial Services sectors, ideally within Airlines/Aviation or Travel since this role is closely aligned to the Travel industry team. You will be keen to explore how these skills can be applied in assessing organizations’ capabilities and readiness for change/growth. This will require bringing previous experience to bear in reviewing architectures and making opinionated recommendations on how business outcomes can be realised. Candidates will be evaluated based on: •Technical Expertise across multiple technology areas and architectural disciplines •Consultating skills, relationship-building, and great communication skills •Breadth & length of experience •Ability to be a creative problem solver and work to sometimes tough deadlines In this role you will be confident engaging in a wide range of conversations with senior client management and staff, have the ability to lead discussions, workshops and interviews, the experience to influence a customer’s technology strategy and the technical ability to architect and design complex enterprise solutions. These abilities will be utilized in all cycles of the delivery lifecycle from Proof-of-Concept development, through modernising legacy solutions, to troubleshooting large-scale implementations. Endava is a rapidly expanding, global organization, and as such, the candidate will be required to undertake travel to work close-to-client as well as to interact with our near-shore delivery teams. RESPONSIBILITIES: •Work alongside Endava and Client Enterprise & Solution Architects to analyse, define and refine architecture outputs •Provide pre-sales support as required by the Travel industry team for current and prospective customers •Understand and translate customer business goals and reflect these appropriately through the definition of future state technology and architecture roadmaps and proposals •Actively influence strategies and shape scope, requirements and technical approach of projects •Proactively review customer solutions and propose improvements and strategic direction, in view of client sought outcomes •Work with commercial and sales management in the EMEA region to shape and pitch strategic engagements to client stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

CORE COMPETENCIES: •Hands-on experience of Enterprise Architecture within Aviation/Airlines and Travel, including but not limited to Capability Mapping, Application Architectures and establishing Architectural Principles •Ability to demonstrate experience working with one or more of the following; Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Booking and Reservations platforms, Order Management systems as well as exposure to IATA standards in New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) and ONE Order •Demonstrated experience in large enterprises working alongside security, architecture and agile teams, centres of excellence, infrastructure and cross-functional operations team •Strong experience in aligning technology strategy with business strategy •Demonstrable background in multiple architectural disciplines (i.e. Solutions/ Software/ Applications/ Infrastructure/Data architecture) •Good understanding of various Agile Delivery Models •Excellent soft skills particularly in client and stakeholder expectation management •Able to articulate client requests to technical colleagues •Highly articulate and literate, with excellent levels of written and spoken English •Ability to maintain initiative and focus during negotiations •High levels of ownership and ability to work across functions to ensure good client outcomes •Demonstrate how Continuous Improvement is embedded in working practices TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: •Demonstrable past experience in multiple technology areas (i.e. Java/.Net, Cloud/DevOps, Data/Security) with at least one in modern practices or technology (i.e. Domain Driven Design/Microservices, IaC, REST, gRPC, API platform design, event-driven, stream processing, data mesh) •Experience in multiple implementation technologies (such as Java or .Net) •Experience with a variety of modern software development practices and operating environments such as Cloud Computing and DevOps •An understanding based on practical experience of implementations based around modern architectural styles such as microservices, event-driven architectures and data mesh
