Job description: A work setting like no other – patrolling among rare giraffes and tigers, and within stunning gardens across a 128-acre estate!This is a key role working as part of our professional Security team taking responsibility for delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, contractors, living collection and assets both by day and night.As a Security Support Officer, you will:
- Maintain the highest level of security at the zoo delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response
- Support the Security team ensuring that regular reviews of security vulnerabilities are identified and highlighted, addressed or suitably mitigated
- Demonstrate a high level of competency in the use of security systems to maximise their operational benefit
- Welcoming guests at the main entrance, Conducting customer searches, Patrolling the grounds and door supervision of our event spaces.
The Package
- Temporary contract from April 2024 to January 2025
- Minimum 8 hours per week
- Hours of work between 7am and 2am
- £11.95 per hour

Our Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Full driving licence
- SIA door supervisor license required
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:
- Experience working within a high visitor environment such as a leisure or visitor attraction, stadium, airport, large shopping facility etc.
- First aid at work qualification
