The successful Food Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining their food safety protocols and procedures, whilst playing a crucial role in ensuring that their products meet regulatory requirements and exceed industry standards for safety and quality.Responsibilities Include:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive food safety programs in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production facilities to identify and address potential food safety hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain effective sanitation, hygiene, and pest control practices.
- Provide leadership and training to employees on food safety best practices, HACCP principles, and GMP standards.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints and internal incidents related to food safety concerns.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in food safety to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and audits.
The Ideal Food Safety Manager Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety management within a food production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and FSMA requirements.
- Experience developing and implementing HACCP plans and food safety management systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Food Safety (e.g., Certified Food Safety Manager) is highly desirable.
