Job DescriptionTechnical Services Engineers at this level help provide ongoing support for a large and diverse Hosted environment. Main responsibilities include

  • Manage, maintain, and provide support for infrastructure and hosted environments.
  • Collaborate with Technical Services colleagues and Project Teams for new service delivery, upgrades, and BAU support.
  • Ensure services are built in alignment with industry and contractual best practices.
  • Continuously provide security assurance for all services.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for service and process improvements.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to the wider team for incident resolution.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures to maintain our standards of excellence.
  • Provide support to customers, resolving problems and answering questions related to hardware and software components.
  • Liaise directly with customers to resolve issues.

QualificationsGood working knowledge of the following:

  • Administration and troubleshooting of the following Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, File Services, Certificate Services, Server Administration 2008 and above)
  • Server backup technology
  • Storage technologies (HPE, Huawei)
  • Incident, problem and change management
  • Server patching techniques and toolsets
  • Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting techniques
  • A working knowledge of general networking (e.g. routing, firewall, wireless AP)
  • An understanding of working with Computer Infrastructure in a Datacenter environment
  • Virtual server technologies e.g. VMWare.

Good understanding of:

  • Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Citrix Virtualisation technology suite.
  • Enterprise/Event Management.

Additional InformationThis role can be completed remotely but some travel will be required to Telefónica Tech Offices and to the Customer Site aligned with planned Team \ Business needs. Primarily this will be Belfast and Cambriidge. Travel at short notice may be required as part of this role but expected to be minimal. Travel is estimated to be 5% – 10%.
