About the Post
Course: Digital Media (BA)
Modules: Creative Digital Imaging; Designing for Web & Mobile and Social Media Businesses
Hours: 3 to 9 hours per week starting on 29 January 2024
Fixed term until 31 October 2024

London Metropolitan University are advertising for an Associate Lecturer in Digital Media to teach undergraduate students on the Digital Media BA programme. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a combination of educational qualifications, technical expertise, and teaching experience in various and related fields of digital media. Relevant skills and expertise would be in social media design, image-making and the image-creating process for web and mobile and web and mobile design more generally. Knowledge of and skills in digital and online content creation for businesses as well as a good understanding of social media business more generally would be desirable.
The successful candidate would possess knowledge of and proficiency in, some or all of the following: scripting and mark- up languages (such as HTML5), web and
mobile design, layout design and typography and integrate of social media with web design. The postholder would also possess knowledge of industry-standard design tools from the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Knowledge of other industry standard design software such as Figma, or other relevant software would be advantageous. Knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress.org is desirable, as is subject knowledge of the creation of online content for different platforms for web and social media.
