Our client based in the Fareham area is looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative/General Assistant, you would need to have a current counter balance forklift licence for this role along with a UK driving licence as some driving/deliveries will be part of the role.

KEY TASKS

Assist with the running of the warehouse, ensuring all stock is receipted and dispatched in a timely fashion and in line with companies’ processes. To communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers (both internal and external) and suppliers whilst having an empathetic attitude to those around you.

Key on the job activities:

  • The receipt, inspection and dispatch of all goods coming in and out of the warehouse.
  • Ensure that all incoming goods are stored, stacked, and distributed according to warehouse requirements.
  • Process all necessary documentation within the Warehouse and complete all relevant IT system transactions (SAGE 200).
  • Participation in rolling and annual stock taking dealing with any discrepancies in a timely fashion.
  • Participation in ensuring that month end warehouse processes and procedures are carried out in line with the Finance teams requirements, ensuring month end transactions are completed in line with group reporting requirements – booking in and dispatching.
  • Assist with the picking of stock items where GDN’s (goods delivery notes) are raised.
  • Loading and unloading of vans, segregating all waste accordingly and ensuring vehicles are checked over prior to and on return from use.
  • Co-ordinate the segregation and collection of all waste in a timely manner and in line with hazardous waste permits.
  • Assist in the facilitation of service visits on warehouse equipment i.e., forklifts, pallet trucks, stair climber etc.
  • Take responsibility for work ensuring all jobs are completed efficiently.
  • Work as part of a team to maintain and carry out all working practices and all Health and Safety procedures within the warehouse and yard.
  • Keep the work area (yard, warehouse, and stock room) secure, clean, and tidy at all times.

Physical Attributes:

  • Well presented, articulate and excellent communicator

Attainments:

  • Experience of working in a Warehouse
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck qualification – 1.5T up to 7.5T.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety
  • Strong numeric and IT Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
