About the role

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Film & TV Teacher with a specialism in camera, light and sound. You would be joining a friendly and inclusive team, dedicated to trying to get the best outcomes for all our students. We want you to inspire students to understand your love for the
subject, to achieve outstanding results and to help them get the skills they would need to join the screen industries when they leave us.

We are keen to hear from people with backgrounds in industry, specifically within a production environment as this role will predominantly be teaching this pathway. However, we would also welcome applications from teachers who may not have been involved in the industry but have a keen and informed interest. A good working knowledge of camera (exposure and framing), lighting and sound are desirable, as is the commitment to develop
and extend your own technical understanding with the support of the team.

Role Responsibilities will:

  • Cultivate LSA’s Vision and embed its Values across every aspect of the school
  • Work closely with the Assistant Principal, Head of Department and other Film and TV Teachers to develop and teach the curriculum including schemes of work and assessment materials
  • Take on additional responsibilities within the department related to a curriculum area
  • Collaborate with LSA’s industry partners to provide learning experiences and opportunities that align with LSA’s Vision and Values
  • Regularly collect and use data and other contextual information to evidence student progress towards intended outcomes and engage with target setting, differentiation, monitoring and intervention
  • Take an honest and open approach to teaching practice and welcome opportunities for feedback and development
  • Play an active pastoral role as an Academy Tutor ensuring that our students emotional and social needs are met and that they feel part of our overall community
  • Engage with LSA Enrichment by providing opportunities for learning outside of the typical curriculum
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of all students
