Job Description

We are currently looking to strengthen our team and appoint a Lecturer for BA (Hons) Illustration for Communication.

Ravensbourne’s Design Department is seeking a Lecturer to join our ambitious and future-thinking Illustration course. We are looking for an inspirational professional illustrator and educator to bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the course. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the development of the curriculum and manage the progress and wellbeing of a particular cohort or year group. They will also contribute to the development and delivery of illustration modules and cross-disciplinary activities within Ravensbourne. Co-teaching is an essential part of our methodology.

The successful applicant will have a first degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject and will be an established illustration educator and practitioner. You will possess the ability to engage students and feel comfortable working across a range of analogue and digital media and formats, with experience in studio-based teaching and assessment, as well as the creation of digital tutorials and software training utilising subject-relevant applications and platforms. Fields of expertise could include publishing & narrative work, animation & moving image, 3D modelling. A solid working knowledge of current industry standard digital image-making tools and applications, as informed and demonstrated by your own practice.
