Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) at The University of Edinburgh

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic general practice nurse to join our friendly team.

The Dick Vet General Practice (DVGP) is a first opinion practice within the Hospital for Small Animals.

You will receive comprehensive training and induction with friendly, knowledgeable staff.  You need the ability to work under your own initiative and be an active member of the nursing and DVGP team. You will be required to work primarily in our dog and cat practice (DVGP) but nursing support in other areas of the hospital may occasionally be required.

As Vet Nurses have contractual overtime of 2.5 hours per week on top of the standard 35 hours, the annual salary range for Grade UE06 will raise to £35,573 – £41,206 per annum. There will also be paid overtime (Saturday mornings) with any additional shift cover.

The post holder will participate in a Saturday morning rota on a shared basis with existing practice nursing staff. Flexibility in working hours (day shifts only) will be required between 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm. Saturday 9am-12pm.

• Must be an RCVS registered veterinary nurse (RVN)
• Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential
• Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must
