Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Chemotherapy Nurse unit manager, for Viking Day Unit.This role will involve managing the running of the chemotherapy day unit, ensuring the planning and delivery of treatment is given safely.   • Post registration senior nurse experience in a cancer related area.
  • Has sufficient experience to be a credible and competent clinical nurse and manager

  • The ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships
  • The ability to communicate unpleasant/sensitive information to patient and staff within a variety of settings
  • The ability to influence and overcome resistance through the application of advanced communication skills
  • A practical, working knowledge of how to schedule treatment for the chemotherapy outpatient areas

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working as a band 6 Chemotherapy Sister
  • A good understanding of Oncology and Haematology pathways
  • A clear understanding of breaches, and how they impact the patient journey
