Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, highly motivated, hardworking individual to join a friendly and dedicated team within the Gastroenterology department. The job role is varied and requires individuals who can adapt well, manage all duties effectively and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.You will need to be reliable, flexible, and hard-working with excellent communication and IT skills. Delivery of deadlines is key to this role; you will be expected to work as a team member and also as an individual using your own initiativeMain duties of the jobMain duties include monitoring stationary levels in the office and ordering as appropriate, ensuring all notes coming into and leaving the department are tracked on PAS, assisting with returning pre-file to the Health Records Department. The postholder will send out blood forms and prescriptions as required, make and request appointments as appropriate in line with government and local targets. Duties also include copying, typing and editing clinical letters and other correspondence, ensuring layout, spelling, grammar and punctuation is consistent and ensuring data confidentiality and data protection are followed at all times. - Experience in a customer focused role dealing with the public both on the telephone or/and in person.
- Clerical/Administrative experience.
Desirable
- Previous NHS experience.
- Experience of using a Patient Administration System (PAS).
- Previous procurement or stock management experience

- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues and all service users, both written and verbally.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good keyboard skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others.
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
