About this role

Interior Design BA (Hons), Product Design BA (Hons) and Product Design Technology BSc (Hons) are launching an exciting new curriculum at UWE with collaboration and cross disciplinary learning at its core. We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to teach across the programmes and be a part of the delivery of the new academic content.

The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in at least one of the main programme disciplines through either teaching or industry practice but will be able to deliver teaching across the three programmes and so will need to be adaptable and flexible and willing to learn new content.

About you

You will be qualified to postgraduate level (or near to completion) in a relevant subject, hold a higher education teaching qualification and HEA Fellowship, or a commitment to achieve these within two years of appointment.

You will have a track record of inspirational teaching in higher education, or be able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience, and will make a significant contribution to course teaching activity at undergraduate level. You should demonstrate subject knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: Interior design, product design and product design technology.

You will have a broad range of skills related to interior and product design disciplines and have experience in the delivery of the teaching of these skills in higher education.

You will have a broad range of experience in teaching, research, and professional practice, active networks and strong contacts with local and national agencies and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling the development of effective working relationships with students, staff, and external partners (industry and educational; regional/national/international). 

Where is this role based?

Predominantly based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed and is home to UWE Bristol’s creative and cultural subjects. However, there may be times when the role requires you to work at our Frenchay campus.

This is a permanent post and is full-time working on a 1FTE contract. This post is available on a job share basis.
