JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for Associate Lecturers in Critical Design Thinking to join our team of existing Associate Lecturers and Establishment Staff during the academic year 2025-2026. Associate Lecturers in Critical Design Thinking deliver teaching into the Bath School of Design degree programmes.

Applicants should have expertise in the theory and critique of design practice and in particular the disciplines of Graphic Design and/or Illustration. This expertise should inform your teaching, scholarship and research. You will possess exceptional interpersonal, networking and communication skills.

The successful applicants will contribute expertise across all levels of the undergraduate programmes. The role includes seminar teaching and study skill development for levels four and five students and supervision of level six student’s projects. You will be involved in marking, moderation and other quality assurance processes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • To undertake teaching (lectures, practicals, seminars, discussion groups and tutorials as appropriate)
  • Supporting undergraduate students in groups, individually and in online environments
  • Mark assessments associated with teaching and attend assessment and examination meetings as required
  • Administration in accordance with School practice (e.g. Monitoring student attendance, written feedback on coursework, maintaining marking lists)

It is essential that the candidate has experience of Graphics and or Illustration
